Douglas James Burgum (born August 1, 1956) is an American entrepreneur and politician from Republican party, he is currently governor of North Dakota since 2016.
He unsuccessfully ran for the Republican nomination for president in 2024, but remains a contender to be chosen as Vice President on Trump's ticket.
Burgum is reportedly worth $100 million or more,[1] and candidates can spend unlimited amounts on their own race. Burgum was seen traveling with Trump to a campaign rally in New Jersey on May 11, 2024, fueling speculation that he could be tapped as Trump's VP.
