Post-abortive

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Aschlafly (talk | contribs) at 00:33, June 7, 2025. It may differ significantly from current revision.

Post-abortive refers to the physical and emotional state of a woman after having an abortion, and in particular the additional trauma caused by the abortion. It can also be called "post-abortion syndrome" (PAS), "post-abortal", or "post-traumatic stress disorder" (PTSD). Liberal denial does not help, but Bible-consistent healing techniques can be very effective in overcoming both hidden and overt emotional, psychological, and/or intellectual harm that results from abortion.

Post-abortive distress affects many men, too, with common symptoms as listed below.

Post-abortive men

Focus on the Family lists common symptoms in post-abortive men:

“ Intense anger

Cycles of depression
Addictive behaviors
Mistrust of women
Difficulty with close relationships
A tendency to become involved in promiscuity or pornography as a way of regaining sexual “power”[1]
