Nuclear test

A nuclear test is the controlled detonation of a nuclear device to evaluate its performance, yield, and effects. These tests help countries understand the capabilities of their nuclear weapons and refine their designs.
Testing can be above ground (atmospheric), below ground to control atmospheric contamination and its spread by winds, underwater tests which can create a radioactive tsunami, or upper atmospheric (exoatmospheric) more than 30 km above ground or outer space.[1]
