Some put the number of fatalities between 1953- Sep 2005 at over 4 million people.[1]

Violence continued after September 2005, claiming an estimated 100,000 (?) additional lives in subsequent years, though the intensity declined.

Post-2011 Conflicts: Various smaller, regional conflicts persisted in Sudan after South Sudan's independence in areas like South Kordofan and Blue Nile states.

Some 400,000 were killed between 2013–2018.[2]

2023 Civil War: A major civil war erupted in April 2023 between the Sudanese Armed Forces (SAF) and the Rapid Support Forces (RSF). By 2024, 150,000 were killed.[3]
