Alex Saab
Alex Nain Saab Morán (Arabic: Ø£ÙÙÙس صعب; born 21 December 1971) is an Arab Colombian businessman - Hezbollah linked and socialist-dictator Nicolas Maduro ally, international crime facilitator.[1]
Saab was the subject of journalistic investigations for conducting businesses estimated at US$135 million with the Venezuelan government, while other Colombian businessmen had stopped exporting to Venezuela due to uncertainty regarding payments and tight exchange controls.
He basically robbed poor Venezuelans through his schemes.[1][2]
Saab's name has appeared in multiple ICIJ leaks including the Panama Papers, Pandora Papers and the FinCEN Files.
He was freed by Biden administrationin on Dec 20, 2023, "granting Narco-Socialists a major win." [3] "In exchange, Maduro will free some, if not all, of the at least 10 U.S. citizens who remain imprisoned in Venezuela."[4]
Extradition
In May 2026 it was reported that Venezuela will extradite Saab to the US.[5]
He will be held in Florida.

Alex Saab, who was arrested on a U.S. warrant for money laundering in 2020, was released from custody Wednesday. In exchange, Maduro will free some, if not all, of the at least 10 U.S. citizens who remain imprisoned in Venezuela.
