Nicolás Maduro Moros is a socialist and a communist politician in Venezuela. From 2006 to 2013 he was the Foreign minister. In 2012, Maduro became Vice President and since the death of Hugo Chavez he is the President of Venezuela. In 2013 he was "officially" elected after he defeated, in a close election, the oppositional candidate Henrique Capriles.[2]

In the 1980s, Maduro received Communist training in Cuba.[3][4]

On April 19, 2013, Maduro is sworn in a day after the National Electoral Council announces plans to complete an audit of votes cast in Sunday's election "to preserve a climate of harmony between Venezuelans." [5]

Maduro has a Jewish origin but today he is a Roman Catholic.[6]

Maduros economical policies ruin the country. There is even scarce toilet paper available.[7] Food shortages and corruption are very common and there is an annual inflation rate of more than 45 percent. After that Maduro forced stores to sink the prices. Store managers and owners were arrested.[8] Maduros unveiled the "Deputy Ministry of Supreme Social Happiness" to manage social programs.[9]

The capital Caracas has one of the highest murder rates in the world.[10] Maduro accused the "Spider-Man"-movie and soap operas for criminal.[11]

The relationship between Venezuela and the USA is strained especially for Maduro's eviction of the American ambassador and his quote: "Get out of Venezuela! Yankee go home!".[12] He also forced CNN-employes to leave Venezuela.[13]

In 2019, numerous countries refused to recognize Maduro as Venezuela's legitimate leader, though by the end of the year, he still clung to power.[14]

In 2020, Maduro also endorsed "Comrade Biden"[15] for president, since Biden and Maduro are very good friends. He congratulated Biden on his "victory"[16], and called for dialogue, diplomacy, and recognition. Biden would happily keep Maduro in power, saying that he will fix the country.[17]

2013 election

An eyewitness testified in a sworn affidavit:

"Inside that location was a control room in which there were multiple digital display screens – TV screens – for results of voting in each state in Venezuela. The actual voting results were fed into that room and onto the displays over an internet feed, which was connected to a sophisticated computer system created by Smartmatic. People in that room were able to see in “real time” whether the vote that came through the electronic voting system was in their favor or against them. If one looked at any particular screen, they could determine that the vote from any specific area or as a national total was going against either candidate. Persons controlling the vote tabulation computer had the ability to change the reporting of votes by moving votes from one candidate to another by using the Smartmatic software.

18. By two o'clock in the afternoon on that election day Capriles Radonsky was ahead of Nicolás Maduro by two million votes. When Maduro and his supporters realized the size of Radonsky’s lead they were worried that they were in a crisis mode and would lose the election. The Smartmatic machines used for voting in each state were connected to the internet and reported their information over the internet to the Caracas control center in real-time. So, the decision was made to reset the entire system. Maduro’s and his supporters ordered the network controllers to take the internet itself offline in practically all parts in Venezuela and to change the results.

19. It took the voting system operators approximately two hours to make the adjustments in the vote from Radonsky to Maduro. Then, when they turned the internet back on and the on-line reporting was up and running again, they checked each screen state by state to be certain where they could see that each vote was changed in favor of Nicholas Maduro. At that moment the Smartmatic system changed votes that were for Capriles Radonsky to Maduro. By the time the system operators finish, they had achieved a convincing, but narrow victory of 200,000 votes for Maduro."[18]
