Asim Munir is the most powerful military figure in Pakistan as of 2026. Pakistan' first-ever Chief of Defence Forces and the current Chief of Army Staff giving him authority over Army, Air Force, and Navy, holding the rare five‑star rank of Field Marshal. He is the first Pakistani officer ever to head both:

  • Military Intelligence (MI)
  • Inter‑Services Intelligence (ISI)

Promoted to Field Marshal in May 2025, Parliament’s 27th constitutional amendment (Nov 2025) granted him lifelong immunity and permanent Field Marshal privileges.
