Dr. Gregory Rabinovich was a doctor and KGB officer sent to the United States in the mid-1930s to supervise penetration of the Trotskyist movement.

In the late 1930s Rabinovich approached Louis Budenz, then a senior CPUSA official in Chicago, to assist him in recruiting Communists for infiltration into the American Trotskyist movement.
