Charles Curtis (1860 - 1936) was Vice President under Herbert Hoover from 1929 to 1933. He served in both houses of Congress. He was Republican majority leader in the Senate. What is interesting to note is that he opposed Herbert Hoover but became his running mate in the 1928 election. [1]
