Ulster

Ulster is one of the four tradional provinces of Ireland, the others being Connaught or Connacht, Leinster and Munster. Ulster consists of the six counties of Northern Ireland and three counties of the Republic of Ireland. It has a population of a little under two million people. Protestants/ British Unionists in Northern Ireland often use the term Ulster as shorthand for Northern Ireland - the protest movement against the 1985 Anglo Irish Agreement used the slogan "Ulster Says No".

The major cities of Northern Ireland are Belfast and Derry.
