Arguments Against Homosexuality
There are many arguments against homosexuality based on religious grounds and on its effects on society which include the negative health effects of homosexuality and the homosexual relationships experience more violence.
Judeo-Christian objections nearly always refer to the Bible, which, it is argued, condemns homosexual acts in both Old and New Testaments. For example, Leviticus 18:22 says, "A man shall not lie with man as with a woman." However, an argument can be made that this particular verse refers to male homosexual acts performed as part of a Pagan ritual and not as an explicit condemnation of homosexual acts outright.[1] Similarly, one chapter later we see Leviticus 19:27 admonishing against cutting one's hair or trimming one's beard, but while the verse itself does not state so explicitly, in the context of the chapter this rule is not a general guideline, rather it is clearly only meant to apply when these actions are committed as part of an act of mourning.[2]
