Genesis

Genesis is a famous British progressive rock band. Although less successful than their contemporaries Pink Floyd, Yes, and Emerson, Lake & Palmer, they succeeded in attracting and sustaining a larger number of fans. Genesis was led by vocalist Peter Gabriel for many years; drummer Phil Collins assumed vocal duties after his departure and turned the band's sound into a more pop-oriented direction.

The band had been on hiatus for many years, but Collins, keyboardist Tony Banks, and bassist/guitarist Mike Rutherford will be on tour for the summer of 2007. Originally, the classic lineup of Gabriel, guitarist Steve Hackett, Banks, Rutherford, and Collins were supposed to reform but Gabriel and Hackett declined to participate, although both are open to a later reunion.
