Cheburashka

Cheburashka (Russian: ЧебÑÑаÑка) is a character in Russian author Eduard Uspensky's children's stories, and the main character in the Cheburashka animated films.
Cheburashka is a small strange animal. Originally from a tropical forest, he fell asleep in an orange crate and ended up in a Russian market. He is friends with an accordian playing crocodile named Ðена (Gena). The other main character, who could be described as an antagonist, is an old woman СÑаÑÑÑ Ð° ШапоклÑк (Old Lady Shapoklyak). She has a pet rat called Lariska.
Cheburashka is also very popular in Japan.
