Frank Muir

Frank Herbert Muir (1920-1998) was a British comedy writer and performer. He became involved with Forces Radio while serving in the Royal Air Force during World War II and onm demobilisation became a writer for Jimmy Edwards]. His writing partnership with Denis Norden, formed shortly afterwards, was to bring both men great renown. Together they scripted The Glums and Whack-O for Jimmy Edwards, as well as many other radio comedies; and the pair were mainstays of the radio panel game My Word. Muir (alone) was also a long-standing panel member of the popular television panel game Call My Bluff, and he was much in demand as a voice-ver for televison advertisements. He wrote several books, including childrens' stories, (edited) humorous anthologies, and an acclaimed autobiography, A Kentish Lad.
