Texas Tech University is a Texas public university founded in 1923.[2] It was ranked a third tier school in USNews' 2008 "National Universities: Top Schools" list.[3]

Athletics

Texas Tech has 7 men's and 8 women's sports teams.[1] The football program has won 9 bowl games (while losing 20 and tying 1).[4] The women's basketball program has won 1 national championship.[5]
