Papyrus

Papyrus was one of the earliest types of paper invented. (The word paper derives from the word papyrus.) It was very important to the ancient Egyptians. It helped transform the Egyptian society in many ways. Once the technology of papyrus making was formed, the method of production was kept a secret, allowing Egypt to have molopoly on it. The first use of papyrus is believed to be around 4000 B.C.
Papyrus and The Bible
The earliest known manuscript of the New Testament was written on papyrus.[1]
