BCE

BCE is the abbreviated form of the term "Before Common Era", a non-Christ-referencing equivalent of BC (= Before Christ.) Use of the term BCE is rampant on Wikipedia. It is generally used by those trying to be politically correct and by secular humanists, but has come into broader usage in recent years as American and other Western societies have become more secularized.
