A country is defined to be landlocked if it is entirely surrounded by land; alternatively, if it does not border any oceans or seas.[1] Traditionally, landlocked countries are considered to be at an economic disadvantage. They have more limited trade routes as well as no access to ocean reasources such as fishing.
