Aramaic

Aramaic was the language of Jesus. It is an Indo-European language, most closely related to Armenian and Hittite. However, it borrowed extensively from Hebrew, and therefore has often been mistaken for a Semitic language. It is somewhat unusual because it has no voiceless consonants, and no unaspirated consonants. Its syntax is that of a typical Indo-European language.
