Conservapedia:Obama straw poll

Religion

Obama says he's a Christian. Some conservatives say he's a Muslim.

• I don't believe that Obama believes in biblical Christianity/classical orthodox Christianity.[1] I am opposed to "liberal Christianity" as I think the evidence points to it often being wrongheaded.[2] Conservapedia does not say Obama is a Muslim. Conservapedia says Obama is likely a Muslim. Regardless, I believe and for good reasons that Obama (see my comments on the Obama talk page) is extremely unlikely to be a Muslim. conservative 17:01, 27 November 2008 (EST)
• From what I've read, I believe that it's clear that Obama's Christianity is nominal or quite liberal, but not biblical. But the evidence of him being a closet Muslim is very weak at best (and exceeded by evidence for being non-Muslim), and more realistically is simply wrong in some cases (e.g. Muslim pronunciation of Pakistan), logically invalid (swearing on the Koran), or irrelevant (that he didn't change his name). The article has mostly said unequivocally that he is a Muslim, although this did get changed recently (but it's perhaps too soon to see if that sticks). Philip J. • I think the "evidence" being presented here that Obama is a muslim is very forced. It seems like people really want to have something to criticize him about, so they twist anything they can to say that he is a muslim. I think the evidence against his being a muslim far outweighs that in favor of his being a muslim. His birth certificate says Hawaii. Some conservatives say he was born in Kenya.

• As the story unfolds, I think it will be shown that Obama was born in Hawaii as it appears now that he was born in Hawaii. It is a moot point now (that I have not investigated deeply) because I don't see judges overturning an election and likely causing riots. conservative 17:01, 27 November 2008 (EST)

Political gaffes

What is the significance of his political gaffes, such as 57 states, bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor, my Muslim faith?

• As the Obama 57 states and bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor comment become more widely known, public confidence in the liberal mainstream will further erode (perhaps the bomb that fell on Pearl Harbor comment was just a gaffe as he appeared to be reading off of notes. However, the more I know about Obama the less confident I am that he is sufficiently knowledgeable about history to be an excellent president of the United States/commander in chief). I think the "my Muslim faith" comment was likely just a mistake and it will not have much of an effect on the public at large believing that Obama is a Muslim. conservative 17:01, 27 November 2008 (EST)
