The Big Three was a term used to refer collectively to the leaders of the United Kingdom, the United States, and the USSR during the Second World War. For most of this period the Big Three were Winston Churchill, Franklin Rooseveldt and Joseph Stalin, but in 1945 Rooseveldt died and was succeeded by Harry Truman, and Churchill lost the 1945 General Election and was succeeded by Clement Attlee.
