Rachel Maddow (b. 1973) is a left-wing American radio and television commentator for Air America radio and MSNBC cable television. She has a bachelors degree from Stanford University, and a doctorate from Oxford. (She went to Oxford as a Rhodes Scholar.) Maddow is one of relatively few openly gay personalities in the mainstream news media. Like the almost everyone at the MSNBC network, she is a staunch opponent of President George W. Bush and the Republican Party.
