Liechtenstein is a small European country, with a population of 34,000. The tiny principality is in the Alps, situated between Switzerland and Austria. The capital is Vaduz. The language is a dialect of German.
Liechtenstein is an important international financial centre and tax haven, and the world's largest producer of false teeth.
Liechtenstein has produced a number of world-class downhill skiers, and (due to its small population) has won more Olympic medals per head than any other nation.
