Christopher Reeve

Christopher D'Olier Reeve (born 1952 - died 2004) was an American actor, best known for his role as Superman in the 1978 film of the same name.
In 1995, he suffered a severe spinal injury after a fall while riding a horse. He was left a quadriplegic. He then became an outspoken supporter of disabled people, and even supported embryonic stem cell research. Sadly, he died in 2004 at the young age of 52, from a bedsore that became badly infected.
