Theodore Robert Bundy (1946-1989) was a notorious serial killer and rapist during the 1970s and 1980s. The word "serial murder" was coined in response to his crimes.
Bundy killed his victims, all female, in Washington, Oregon, Utah, and Florida. He would usually brutally bludgeon his victims, then strangle them. He was executed in 1989 by the electric chair for his last murder in Florida.
Ann Rule's true crime biography The Stranger Beside Me is about Ted Bundy.
