A group of continent's in the Western Hemisphere. They cover over 8.3% of the Earths total surface (total surface 28.4%). 14% of the human population lives in the Americas.
America was named after Amerigo Vespucci. Many people are under the notion that America equals the United States of America. But that is false. America really includes the entire North American continent, the entire South American continent, and the strip of land between them known as Central America.
