I like this movie because, like many others, it regards the Native Americans as full-fledged human beings. John Wayne shows a casual nobility and righteousness in befriending and defending the local tribesmen against the racism of the white settlers. --Ed Poor Talk 15:25, 21 March 2010 (EDT)
Based on the reference to "valedictorian of '95" I'd place this movie in New Mexico, Arizona or possibly Utah. The presence of Mexican children makes me think more of the border states, so I'd leave out Utah. --Ed Poor Talk 15:35, 21 March 2010 (EDT)
