Abortion statistics

Abortion statistics include the fact that the number of abortions in the United States peaked in 1990 and has been generally declining ever since. Many women who had abortions are now outspoken critics of the procedure.
These include Jennifer O'Neill, a Hollywood star, gives talks about how she had an abortion at age 19 and later greatly regretted it.
The percentage of Americans who are pro-life has been steadily increasing, particularly among youth, while the numbers who are "pro-choice" are declining. Gallup Poll reported in 2009 that the number of Americans who are pro-life exceeds 50% for the first time.
