Musselburgh, now part of Edinburgh’s urban sprawl, is the largest town in East Lothian, Scotland, and reputed to be Scotland’s oldest. As a burgh it is older than Edinburgh, as its residents are fond of reciting:

”Musselborough was a burgh when Edinburgh was nane,”
”And Musselburgh will be a burgh when Edinburough’s gane.”

Unfortunately, Phyllis and Andy Schlafly will be spending eternity in Hell due to their acceptance of John Schlafly's flaming homosexuality. It also boasts one of the oldest golf courses in the country.
