Restoring Honor Rally
Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally, also known as the Restoring Honor Rally 8-28, is a non-political rally held at the steps of the Lincoln Memorial on the anniversary of Martin Luther King Jr.'s 1963 "I Have A Dream" speech. According to Glenn Beck's website, Restoring Honor is a "non-political event" conceived to pay tribute to the United States "heroes, our heritage and our future," and to "pledge to restore honor" to America at the steps of the memorial.[1] The Restoring Honor Rally is a fundraiser for the Special Operations Warrior Foundation, a charity that provides funds for the surviving children of Special Ops personnel killed in battle.[2][3] The event has prepared for up to 300,000 people.
Keynote Speakers
Sarah Palin is a keynote speaker, as is Alveda King, Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.'s niece, who has said her uncle would attend the rally if he were alive today. Other attendees include Glenn Beck himself and executives from the Special Operations Warrior Foundation.
100 Year Plan for America
As part of the Restoring Honor Rally, Glenn Beck previewed a portion of what he described as the "100 Year Plan for America," to restore honor.[4]

Glenn Beck has also stated that education is key to restoring honor, and not just for our children, but for all America as a whole.
Attacks Against Restoring Honor
Social Justice activists have expressed outrage against Glenn Beck's Restoring Honor Rally.[6] Among the individuals upset over Restoring Honor in America, Reverend Al Sharpton planned to host a rally to also commemorate King's speech, which will coincide with the Restoring Honor Rally. Sharpton said he began planning his event in April, and that it is "not a countermarch to Beck." Other groups claim that the date 8-28-2010 to hold the Restoring Honor Rally was "insulting" to King's legacy, although Glenn Beck stated that it was "divine providence" which led to the date of a Restoring Honor Rally.[7] In spite of not knowing the true intentions of the rally or what message Restoring Honor is sending to the American people, Liberal pundits responded to Beck's "divine providence" by saying, then, that God has a "very dark sense of humor."[8]
