Jet Stream

The jet stream is an air current found six to nine miles above Earth that travels in the generally eastward direction in North America.
The jet stream is usually thousands of miles in length but only hundreds of miles wide, and quite thin in depth.
The jet stream results from the intersection of hot and cold air masses, which push the intermediate air in an eastward direction.
