Template:Stub The Lend-Lease Act was a congressional act that allowed the President to send arms and other war supplies to any country deemed necessary to the defense of the United States. President Roosevelt persuaded Congress to pass this act in 1941. The Soviet Union, locked in a struggle with the invading German Wehrmacht greatly benefited from the US war materiel delivered to the USSR Arctic seaport of Archangel. The Lend-Lease program was ended in 1945.
