Merging
The lede doesn't quite clarify that Tokyo existed way before the 19th century, or that it was renamed in 1868. Not that you can't pry out this info by careful scrutiny, but the redirect was premature. The idea that Edo was renamed to Tokyo in 1868 could be expressed a little more smoothly.
