An Asymptomatic carrier is a carrier which shows no symptoms of carrying an infectious agent. In the California highlands, squirrels are asymptomatic carriers of the bubonic plague. Asymptomatic carriers were a significant problem for public health in earlier centuries; Typhoid Mary infected nearly fifty people, though she never manifested symptoms herself.
