Anapest

An anapest is a metrical unit of a poetic foot in poetry which is made up of two unstressed (unaccented) syllables followed by a stressed (accented) syllable[1]. Lines of verse that are predominantly made up of anapests are referred to as anapestic. For instance, a line consisting of five sets of anapests would be considered to be in anapestic pentameter. The word anapest itself is an anapestic word.
