Ingmar Bergman

Ingmar Bergman is a Swedish film director noted for his meditative and religious themes.
His most famous film is The Seventh Seal, most remarkable for the scene in which the protagonist plays chess with Death.
Later works studied the complexities of married life - for example Scenes From a Marriage, and also religious doubt, for example Winter's Light.
