Temple of Jerusalem

Temple of Jerusalem may refer to one of two or three temples located on Mount Moriah in Jerusalem.
- The First Temple refers to the temple built by King Solomon.
- The Second Temple refers to the temple rebuilt by Nehemiah.
- The term Third Temple is sometimes used to refer to the luxurious reconstruction of the Second Temple by Herod the Great. Christian and Jewish Zionists often use the term to refer to a rebuilding of the temple on the Temple Mount in anticipation of the Second Coming of Christ. A few picky historians use it to refer to the temple built by Roman Emperor Hadrian on the Temple Mount in honor of the Roman god Capitoline Jupiter; he renamed the city Aelia Capitolina in Capotoline Jupiter's honor.
