Grunge is a form of popular music influenced by punk rock. Emerging from the music scene in Seattle, it has a heavy, monotonous sound and the subject matter of the lyrics are usually bleak and focus on the disillusionment of the youth. Its most famous exponent was Kurt Cobain, who committed suicide at 27.
