Bullfighting is a traditional spectator entertainment in Spain, Southern France and Portugal in which bulls are baited by matadors and then killed.
It is strongly criticized by animal rights groups, referring to it as a cruel and barbaric blood sport, in which the bull suffers severe stress and a slow, torturous death.
