Strait of Hormuz
From Conservapedia
The Strait of Hormuz is a narrow international waterway connecting the Persian Gulf to the Arabian Sea. Iran lies to the north of the strait, while an exclave of Oman and the United Arab Emirates lie to the south.
This Strait is the bottleneck for the world's oil supply. Roughly 20% of the world's total liquid petroleum consumption, about 20 million barrels daily, traverses this Strait.
The United States and other nations have tended to keep naval forces near the Strait to safeguard passage there, but in the 2026 war against Iran the Second Trump Administration was unable to keep the Strait open for safe passage.
