A Beautiful Mind (2001) is an Academy Award-winning movie based on the life of mathematician John Nash, played by Russell Crowe. The film accurately portrays Nash's struggle with schizophrenia, but leaves out other details of Nash's life, such as his homosexual tendencies, extramarital affairs, and his divorce and subsequent reunion with his wife.[1] The film also changed the nature of Nash's delusions. In the novel, Nash's hallucinations were only auditory, while the film made them visual as well. Additionally, in the movie he believed he was working for the government, while in the novel he actually did work for the government, while he believed that he was being manipulated by extraterrestrials.

A Beautiful Mind is also the title of Sylvia Nasar's biography of John Nash.
