Benjamin Lee “Ben” Cline (born February 29, 1972 (age 52)) is an attorney and conservative Republican currently serving as the U.S. representative from Virginia's 6th congressional district, having been elected in the 2018 midterms to replace the retiring Bob Goodlatte. Cline previously served in the state's House of Delegates from the 24th district from 2002 to 2018.

After longtime Republican representative Bob Goodlatte of Virginia's 6th district stated in early November 2017 that he wouldn't seek re-election to another House term,[2] Cline announced his run for the seat.[3] He easily won the general election over Democrat opponent Jennifer Lewis by nearly a twenty-point margin.[4]
Tenure
On February 27, 2019, Rep. Cline introduced a bill to crack down on illegal aliens who purchase firearms.[5]
While strongly conservative on most issues in the Democrat-led 116th U.S. Congress, Rep. Cline has been noted for his effectiveness in working with representatives from the other party on numerous non-partisan issues,[6] with several of his sponsored bills having been signed into law by President Trump.
