Birmingham City Football Club is a soccer (called football in England) club based in the city of Birmingham, in the English midlands.

Founded in 1875 as Small Heath Alliance, they became Small Heath in 1888 and later Birmingham F.C. in 1905. They finally adopted the moniker Birmingham City F.C. in 1943.

The club's home ground has been St. Andrew's since 1906. Although being the second largest city in England (after London) Birmingham City Football Club have known little success in the major competitions and have lived in the shadow of their neighbours and fierce rivals Aston Villa.

The club's nickname is "The Blues" on account of the color of their team strip.
