Carl DeMaio is a homosexual liberal politician currently campaigning for the Republican nomination for California's 52nd congressional district in the 2014 U.S. congressional elections. DeMaio previously served on the San Diego City Council from 2008 to 2012 and was a candidate in the 2012 San Diego mayoral election, wherein he lost to Bob Filler. As a staunch liberal, he supports gay marriage and abortion.[1]
