The Columbus Blue Jackets are a hockey team based in Columbus, Ohio. They are members of the Central Division of the Western Conference of the National Hockey League (NHL). They are one of the newest teams in the League, joining the NHL along with the Minnesota Wild in 2000. The Blue Jackets play at the Nationwide Arena and are named after the uniform of the Union Army from the American Civil War.
