Ernest Lee Fletcher is the governor of Kentucky and a Republican. He has served his country as a pilot in the United States Air Force, and has been a Baptist minister. He has a degree in Engineering, and is also a doctor, and has practiced as a family physician for 12 years. His position as an upstanding citizen of the United States has led to his political progression through state representative, to the United States House of Representatives, and on to his current position as governor of Kentucky. He is seeking re-election this year, declaring the proud motto "Commitment to Healthy Kentuckians & Strong Communities." He is married with two children and four grandchildren. [1]

Trivia

On June 9, 2004, Fletcher's airplane was nearly shot down violating airspace in Washington, D.C. on the way to the funeral of Ronald Reagan. [2]
