The Family Research Institute is a non-profit organisation founded in 1982 to research isues that affect the traditional family. The institute has on its staff research scientists who study issues such as drug use, homosexuality and AIDS. They publish articles in peer reviewed journals.

The Institute has two scientists listed on the website and they appear as the authors of the listed publications.

Dr Paul Cameron (Chairman) has a doctorate in Psychology from the University of Colorado

Dr Kirk Cameron (Board Member) has a doctorate in Statistics from Stanford University.

The Institute is at least partially funded by tax-deductible donations from the public.

There are groups that disagree with some of the aims of the FRI.


The Family Research Institute is a homophobic hate group that presents itself as a Think Tank and chaired by Paul Cameron, a former psychologist who has been kicked out of and censored by professional associations for his misrepresentations of scientific data to advance his homophobic views.
