Gary Eugene "Gene" Taylor (born September 17, 1953 in New Orleans, Louisiana) currently serves as the Democratic U.S. Representative from Mississippi's 4th congressional district, having been first elected in a 1989 special election. He is a senior member of the Armed Services Committee and Transportation and Infrastructure Committee.

Taylor has a reputation as one of the most conservative Democrats in the House with a populist image, and has been critical of both political parties.
