Dingell voted with a majority of his Democratic colleagues 98.2% of the time during the current Congress.[1] He voted against authorizing military force in Iraq and stated he was not against Hezbollah.[2] He supports liberals on education, energy, the environment, and government-run health care. Some of Dingell's stances are conservative, he strongly opposes gun control and received a 100% rating from the National Rifle Association, and voted to ban partial birth abortion.
In August 2009, Dingell compared opponents of Obamacare to the Ku Klux Klan (an organization that was created by Democrats).[3]
