Marijuana is an illegal drug. Its use is concentrated amongst left-wing and un-christain elements of society, such as hippies, liberals, the poor, black people of carribean origin, beatniks and heretical sects like Rastafarians.

The effects of marijuana include a feeling of euphoria, short-term memory loss, mild hallucinations, and an impairment of physical and mental functioning. Marijuana, like alcohol and nicotine, is a gateway drug, and some users later turn to even more dangerous drugs such as cocaine, methamphetamine, and heroin. Marijuana advocates have touted its alleged medicinal benefits, particularly for pain relief and appetite stimulation among those with a terminal illness.
